Why Choose a Wedding Venue with Accommodation?
A wedding venue with on-site accommodation gives you more time with the people who matter most and can turn your celebration into a shared experience rather than a single day.
With a one- or two-night stay, guests can settle in and enjoy the occasion without feeling rushed. An informal gathering on the evening before the wedding gives friends and family who have not met an opportunity to get to know one another, helping everyone feel more comfortable by the time the ceremony begins.
Waking up at the venue can also make the wedding morning much easier. The wedding party is already on-site, so there is no need to coordinate transport or worry about delays.
Shared breakfasts create even more opportunities to spend time together. At The Green, we serve a continental breakfast buffet in the Green Room Bar on the morning of the wedding. If the couple would prefer not to see each other before the ceremony, we can deliver a breakfast platter to one of them.
Breakfast on the morning of departure offers one final chance to catch up, share memories from the wedding and say goodbye before everyone leaves. Guests travelling to Cornwall may also choose to extend their visit, turning the wedding into part of a longer break in the county.
Accommodation At The Green
When comparing wedding venues, check exactly what accommodation is available, how many guests it can sleep and whether the cost is included in the venue hire.
The Green can accommodate up to 42 guests across five cottages, the Farmhouse and five ensuite rooms:
- Cottage 1 – sleeps 2
- Cottage 2 – sleeps 4
- Cottage 3 – sleeps 4
- Cottage 4 – sleeps 4
- Cottage 5 – sleeps 6
- Farmhouse – sleeps 12
- Rooms 6, 7, 8 and 9 – sleep 2 each
- Room 10 – sleeps 2 and is fully accessible

Is accommodation for 32 guests always included?
Yes. Accommodation for 32 guests is included as standard at The Green, across our five cottages and the Farmhouse.
Our five ensuite rooms increase the total capacity to 42 and are optional. You can add as many as you need, or none at all, depending on your guest list.
Guests who cannot stay on-site will find a range of accommodation nearby.
We can provide cots for babies, and several of our cottages are dog-friendly. We also have one fully accessible bedroom, while some of our other accommodation may suit guests with limited mobility. Deciding Who Should Stay On-Site
If your venue cannot accommodate everyone, you will need to decide which guests stay on-site.
On-site accommodation is often in high demand because it is convenient and allows guests to enjoy the celebration without worrying about travelling afterwards. Couples usually prioritise immediate family, members of the wedding party and guests travelling the furthest.
When allocating rooms, consider each guest’s individual needs. Older relatives, families with young children and guests with accessibility requirements may benefit from particular rooms, facilities or locations within the venue.

Is it OK to Ask Guests to Pay for Their Accommodation?
Yes. It is common for wedding guests to pay for their own accommodation, particularly if they would otherwise need to book a hotel or holiday cottage nearby. Staying at the venue also saves the cost and hassle of arranging taxis, even for guests who live locally, and gives them a more relaxed and enjoyable experience.
At The Green, you can choose to cover the cost yourself or ask your guests to pay us directly. Most couples ask their guests to pay, which helps reduce the overall cost of their wedding.
We provide a recommended amount to charge, although you can set a different amount if you prefer. We also give you the payment information to share with your guests and update your booking as payments are received.
Whichever option you choose, make sure guests understand the cost and payment arrangements before they agree to stay.

Helping Your Guests Plan Their Stay
Even if your venue offers on-site accommodation, some guests may need to travel home or stay elsewhere. Providing clear information in advance will help everyone plan their journey, book accommodation and arrange transport with confidence.
Make sure your guests know:
- The venue’s full address and directions
- Where they can park
- Check-in and check-out times
- What local accommodation is available
- Whether taxis or other transport need to be booked in advance
- What breakfast arrangements are included
- What accessibility facilities are available
- Whether children and dogs are welcome
It is helpful to keep all this information in one place, such as on your wedding website or in a guest information sheet sent with your invitations. Sharing it early is particularly important in rural areas, where accommodation and taxis may be limited and can become fully booked.

Ask your venue what arrangements it has in place in the event of a power cut. At The Green, we have a generator that can power the whole site if required, allowing the celebration to continue with minimal disruption.
Creating a Relaxed and Enjoyable Guest Experience
Try to experience the wedding day from your guests’ perspective. Consider how they will arrive, how long each part of the day will take and whether they will have comfortable places to sit, eat, drink and socialise.
The number of guests can have a significant effect on timings. Larger groups usually take longer to move between spaces, order drinks, be seated and enjoy each part of the day. At The Green, our planning service includes creating a detailed wedding timeline that takes your guest numbers into account and helps the day flow smoothly.
There is usually a gap between the ceremony and the wedding meal while photographs are taken. Make sure guests have access to drinks, comfortable seating and somewhere welcoming to socialise during this time. If you are having an early ceremony, you may also wish to serve canapés.
Entertainment can help guests enjoy this part of the day, although it does not need to be elaborate. You could arrange lawn games during the summer, live music or indoor entertainment such as casino tables.
If you are planning outdoor activities, ask your venue what will happen if the weather changes. At The Green, many activities, including mini golf, can be moved indoors so your guests can still enjoy them on a wet day.
Keeping Guests Comfortable and Meeting Accessibility Needs
Your guests’ comfort can make a real difference to their experience of your wedding. When visiting venues, ask how the main spaces are heated during winter and kept cool during hot summer weather.
At The Green, our main function rooms have both heating and air conditioning, helping guests stay comfortable throughout the day, whatever the weather.
You should also consider:

- How far guests need to walk between the accommodation, ceremony and reception spaces
